Induction Training

Who is this for? Tutor teams or whole staff groups
How long does it take? A 2-hour session
What does it do? It introduces the VisionWorks model of teaching Emotional Wellbeing in schools.

It covers:
   – the principles that drive the programmes for KS2, 3 or 4
   – how to facilitate and deliver it effectively
 – goals and evaluation criteria.

How will it help? When you purchase a programme, it is easier to embed the principles effectively within year groups and staff teams when teachers have experienced the training.

How much does it cost? £400*

INSET training

Who is this for? Tutor teams or whole staff groups
How long does it take? A day
What does it do? It explores the VisionWorks programmes in depth.

Staff will look at:
    – the principles that drive the programmes for KS2, 3 or 4
    – why Emotional Wellbeing is important for learning
    – the importance of modelling Emotional Wellbeing as a teacher
    – how to deliver the lessons effectively
    – how to apply Emotional Wellbeing skills within individual subject areas.

How will it help? Training will embed the principles within year groups and staff teams, enhancing the effectiveness of the programme so that the 5 domains of emotional intelligence become an integral part of your school ethos.

School Inset: for those not using the Vision Works programmes

School Inset: Emotional Wellbeing – a vital key for learning

Who is this for? Managers, whole staff, tutor teams, TAs, subject teams
How long does it take? A twilight session, half day or whole day
What does it do? Depending on the time available, it progressively explores to how to embed life skills that are essential for ultimate success and fulfillment in yourself and your students.

Staff will focus on:

  • the importance of emotional well-being as a key to achievement
  • recent discoveries in neuroscience
  • the principles of emotional well-being
  • their own emotional literacy
  • how to model it in the classroom

How will it help? There will be improved classroom behaviour, better academic results and stronger relationships. Staff and students will feel less stressed. The school community will be a happier one.

“Managing Behaviour – a better way”

Who is this for? Managers, whole staff, tutor teams, TAs, subject teams
How long does it take? A twilight session, half day or whole day
What does it do? In this seminar we pinpoint the root causes of behaviour and demonstrate how simple strategies can give pupils new awareness and power to make more positive choices about their behaviour, and more effective ways to manage themselves and their behaviour.

Staff will focus on:

  • understanding behaviour
  • identifying underlying feelings
  • making new choices about behaviour
  • managing relationships more effectively
  • gaining a new perspective of students’ behaviour

How will it help? You will see improved classroom behaviour through raised self-esteem and increased self management. Relationships across the board will show a marked improvement. Classes will be more settled, therefore everyone’s learning will improve.

NQTs and trainee teachers

Who is this for? Teachers in their first year of teaching and anyone training to be a teacher.
How long does it take? A twilight session, half day or whole day
What does it do? It introduces the concept of Emotional Wellbeing and why it is beneficial to both teachers and students.

Teachers will focus on:

  • the principles of emotional wellbeing
  • neuroscience and wellbeing
  • their own emotional intelligence
  • why it is beneficial in the classroom
  • how to implement it in the classroom

How will it help? It provides new teachers with another tool to ensure a calm, happy, well-motivated classroom. Also they will feel less stressed.
